Returning to Work
You can return to work within a week following your surgery, just remember that your vision may still be a bit blurry and it could be advised, depending on your job that you hold off longer on going back to work.
Swelling
Swelling can last from a few days to a few weeks, it varies for very patient. Bruising lasts anywhere from 7 to ten days.
Showering
You can shower on either the second or third day following your surgery.
Recovery
Your vision may be blurry for a few days and your eyes may also be sensitive to light. Dr Luria recommends eye drops to help with any dryness or itching during this time. After a week your stitches will be removed and you may wear makeup again to cover up any discoloration.
Discomfort
You may feel dryness, itching, tightness, or even tearing during this time. If dryness or itching are your problems you will be provided eye drops to help relieve this discomfort.
Results
The results of your blepharoplasty should be long lasting. Gravity and time do takes its toll however, the removal of fat from your lower eyelids will always be permanent, but wrinkling and any sagging may eventually return.
