Returning to Work
You will be allowed to return to work after 2 weeks, and resume most normal activities, including light exercise after 3 to 4 weeks.
Swelling
You will be severely swollen for the next couple days following your surgery. It will take a few weeks for all of the swelling to subside. Any bruising will also disappear completely after two weeks.
Showering
You can shower immediately after surgery so long as you keep your dressings dry.
Recovery
Your bandages will be removed after a couple days, and then you will be able to wear makeup again to cover any bruising, you may experience some numbness, but this should pass. You should also avoid direct sunlight during your recovery and use sunblock more frequently to protect your skin.
Discomfort
Any discomfort you might have from your facelift procedure can easily be controlled by pain medication which Dr. Luria can prescribe. You may also feel some numbness or tingling which could last for several weeks.
Results
It will take several weeks to see the final results after the swelling and bruising have disappeared. Depending on the severity of your facelift, and whether or not you combined it with another procedure, your results could be very dramatic or somewhat subtle. The results should last for many years.
