When done by the hands of a skilled plastic surgeon like Dr. Luria, a gynecomastia procedure can help to restore your self esteem by creating more natural looking chest. He will discuss which type of gynecomastia technique will give you the best results, based on the severity of your condition. He will also take the time to answer any additional questions or concerns you might have.
You should come to the gynecomastia consultation prepared to candidly discuss your medical history. This will include information about any medical conditions you may have, medical treatments you have received, previous surgeries, and medications or vitamins that you currently take. Dr. Luria will also give you specific instructions on eating, drinking and instructions for taking medicine prior to your breast reduction surgery. If you are a smoker, Dr. Luria will instruct you quit before your surgery.
If you decide to have the procedure, you will work with the office staff to find a surgery date which works for you. You will also need to place a deposit of $500 to hold the surgery date. All surgical fees are due three weeks in advance of your surgery. If needed, information on financing can be found on our Tampa Plastic Surgery Financing page or by talking to one of Dr. Luria’s staff.
Dr. Luria will give you a complete set of instructions to follow before your surgery. Make sure to follow these directions closely as they will help you in the surgical and post operative recovery process.
Typically, Dr. Luria performs the gynecomastia procedure on an outpatient basis. Prior to surgery, you will need to arrange to have someone drive you home from the Tampa Plastic Surgery Facilities and stay with you if needed for the next couple of days.
