Returning to Work
You can return to work after a few days and return to most of your normal activities after about a week or two, it all depends on the extent of your surgery.
Swelling
You will be swollen and bruised. The swelling may last a week and bruising may take up to 3 weeks to subside.
Showering
You will be allowed to shower when Dr. Luria recommends, depending on the extent of your surgery and the area of incisions.
Recovery
You will be allowed to return home just a few hours after surgery. Dr Luria will require you to wear a comprehensive garment over the areas that were liposuctioned. The garment may be removed after only a few days so that the body can be examined.
Discomfort
You should feel some discomfort but this can be controlled by medication. You may feel some numbness in the liposuctioned areas but the feeling should return to normal after a week or two.
Results
The results of your surgery should be permanent so long as you do not gain an excessive amount of weight. The fat cells removed will never grow back. If you happen to gain a few pounds the distribution of the fat will be noticeably different. Fluid retention and swelling may prolong seeing the complete results.
