Returning to Work
You can return to work anywhere from one to three weeks following your surgery, depending on the type of work. You will not be able to sit for long periods of time for a few days, you must also avoid any straining, bending or lifting during this time.
Swelling
Initially you will be swollen and bruised, this should disappear over the next few weeks, but may takes months for all of the swelling to go away, it is at this time you will be able to see the complete results of your surgery.
Showering
You will be able to shower after your dressings and any drains are removed.
Recovery
You will be able to resume your normal activities, including light exercise after just a few weeks. You will be instructed to sleep only on your back . You will not be able to sit for long period s of time for a few days, you must also avoid any straining, bending or lifting during this time.
Discomfort
At first you will be sore throughout the entire healing process, Dr. Luria can prescribe medication for this. You may also experience some numbness in the abdominal area as well, this should subside over time.
Results
You will have an overall tighter and firmer look to you after your tummy tuck procedure. However, the scarring from the incisions will be visible but should fade to just a faint line over time.
